Positive Training With Dog Treats
There was a time when negative dog training was often used. Rather than only rewarding the desired behavior, punishment was given for incorrect behavior. Canines are naturally inclined to work, and most have a strong desire to learn as a way to work for a reward. This is why positive obedience training with dog treats is a far better approach.
Human Training First
Believe it or not, much of dog training has nothing to do with the dog and everything to do with the human. How you react is vital to how quickly your pet will learn. If you are slow to reward dog treats after a major success, then your pet may not pick up on why he or she was being rewarded. On the other hand, if you reward too often, your pet may not feel the need to work as hard. Find an ideal balance between praise and dog treats. The food reward should be saved for significant advancements while praise and petting can be used for each small step achieved.
Be Patient Every Step of the Way
Remain completely patient and avoid reacting negatively out of frustration. If your pet doesnt seem to understand a step, never take it as a personal attack. Dogs are not vengeful, and as humans we are emotional. We often displace our own emotions by applying them to our pets. The reality is a dog that seems stubborn may not understand because you are moving too quickly. Take a break, gather more dog treats and start again.
If things have become frustrating, and your pet doesnt seem to get the command, it is time to take a few steps backwards. Return to more basic steps and see where your pet excels. Once he or she seems to be getting it, you can slowly progress again. Make a point to offer dog treats as you did the first time through, especially when steps that your pet didnt understand are successfully executed. Never push yourself and your pet forward when he or she is not making progress.
Avoid Fear and Aggression
Dog treats, praise and petting are the only tools you really need to tell your dog he or she is doing the right thing. Negative behavior should be replaced, not punished. Do not hit or yell at your dog if he or she does something wrong during training. This can cause your pet to fear you. He or she may not understand the behavior was incorrect. As far as they can tell, you randomly punished them. Continuing down this path can lead to aggression, should your pet feel the need to become defensive.
That is not to say if your pet does something wrong you should not react. Bad behavior should be immediately stopped by removing your pet from the source, accompanied by a firm, deep no. Many pet owners find that this method is extremely effective and far more desirable than hitting or other forms of punishment.
How to train a dog perfectly?
It may be so that you have an earnest zeal to pet a dog. But you have no idea how to train it. Only to be the master of a dog is not suffice, you have to toil hard to teach it many lessons that are required to keep it at home. Otherwise you will be in trouble; the members of your family will be vexed. At that very period you have no other way than to bid the dog good bye. But if you train your dog efficiently it will be a good friend of you.
You have to try hard to follow some measures so that the pet can coexist with the members of your family. Your children can play with it and you have not to be embarrassed for no fault of your own. Punishing an unruly dog is of no value. It is quite pathetic to hurt an innocent beast. But if you help your dog to follow some social rules at home and outside you are sure to be benefitted. Your dog will follow your advice and will commit no nuisance.
Hence if you want to know how to train a dog you must either consult with a dog trainer or browse the internet to have a perfect idea of it. Again there are lots of books where the details description of how to train a dog is elaborated. But before starting the training you must keep in mind the things that you must not punish the dog if it fails to do accordingly and don’t torture the dog psychologically.
The first thing to follow when you are ready to train a dog is to notice what makes the pet scared, excited, aggressive or angry. You have to note it carefully what makes your dog happy too. Note all these things before you start the training. The more you note minutely the dog’s behavior the more constructive your training method is sure to be.
First of all try to teach the dog where to potty and when to potty. Follow a certain time almost regularly and take the dog outside. Within a few days the dog is sure to follow your direction. Actually you have to brood over the dog psychology. You have to keep in mind that certain things always trigger reactions quite automatically in your pet. If you can master the art you can train your dog quite easily.
Again it is best to follow more than one method. If you note that your dog fails to respond to one particular method follow another one that may bring immediate result. There are many dog trainers in your area to teach your dog. Besides you can take your dog to the dog training school. Again if you follow some video clips of dog training you may be benefitted too. Whatever you do keep it in mind that dog training is no easy thing. It needs patience and endurance.

How to Teach Your Dog Tricks
Having a dog as a pet can be a rewarding experience. Not only do you have the unconditional love of an animal, but you have the companionship of a great friend, as well.
One good way to spend time with your dog is to teach it tricks. Knowing tricks will mean you can show off how smart your dog is to your friends, and teaching the dog the tricks is quality time you get to spend with it. If you train your dog properly, it can be a lot of fun for both of you!
The first thing to remember when teaching your dog tricks is patience. Your dog won’t understand what you want right away, so you need to be willing to work slowly with your dog until it can understand and respond to what you’re asking. If you get frustrated, your dog will, too, and the training won’t work.
Another important part of training is consistency. For example, if you use the word “Down” to get your dog to lie down, use that word every time. Don’t switch to “Lay” or anything else. This will just confuse your dog and keep you both from success.
There are lots of great resources both online and in print to help you teach your dog tricks. You can use them to get you started, then tailor your training to match your dog’s personality and do what works for the two of you.
One of the most basic commands is “Sit,” and this can be an easy trick to teach. Begin with your dog standing. Give the command, whether it be a vocal “Sit” or a hand gesture, then press gently on your dog’s back until it lowers to a sitting position. When it fulfills this command, praise your dog and give a treat.
Keep up this process, but each time you give the command, wait a little longer before pressing down on your dog’s back and giving the treat. Eventually, your dog will understand that you want it to sit down in order to get the treat. And after that, your dog will sit without getting a treat as a reward. However, even if you don’t reward with a treat, make sure you praise your dog for sitting on command to give positive reinforcement for good behavior.
Teaching your dog tricks can be a great experience for you both! The time you spend together will strengthen your relationship, and the positive reinforcement you give your dog will help it feel even more loved. Just remember that patience and consistency are the keys to success!
Alpha Dog Obedience Training – Basic Steps to Train Your Dog
As the title suggests, praise and positive re-enforcement are your keys to quick and easy obedience training for your dog.
The old saying “dogs are man’s best friend,” didn’t work its way into our every day life by accident. It has taken centuries of man working alongside the Canine and breeding desirable traits into the popular breeds of today. From the tiniest Chihuahua to the biggest Bull Mastiff and everything in between, each breed carries a desirable trait for its master. Along with size, color, type of fur and demeanor. The inherent trait of wanting to please its master, is probably the most desired and useful trait a dog could own. Using your dogs trait to please its master is the most effective way to train any dog. Ever hear the old saying “You attract more bee’s with honey?” Well, the same holds true with training your dog. Good dog obedience training is simply about praising the good behavior of your dog and ignoring the bad.
Praise that can re-enforce wanted behavior can be anything from a simple “GOOD BOY” to a nice piece of steak! A good pat on the head or scratch behind the ears are a couple of my favorites. This type of training can be done under many situations. Let’s say you are working on the command “sit.” If you find your dog in a nice sitting position even without your command. You can use this as an opportunity to positively re-enforce the command”sit.” As the dog is all ready sitting you can tell him/her “good boy! Sit, that is a good sit!” (pet or give him a treat).
Now lets talk a little about handling the not so good behavior. I know that this can be the most challenging part of training a dog. Let me point out the most important thing you have to remember when it comes to dealing with bad behavior. IF YOU DON’T CATCH YOUR DOG IN THE ACT there is no chance for learning or correcting the behavior. If you do catch your dog in the act of say chewing on your brand new dinning room table, (which has happened to me), you must first control your emotions. Then firmly say,”NO!” and re-direct them to what they are aloud to chew on. Now comes the really hard part… praise them for chewing on the correct chew toy. Keep your rage for that Saturday morning kick boxing class.
So, remember “Good Dog!” Obedience Training. Is the best and fastest way to train your dog. And you will be rewarded as you develop confidence in your dog and your relationship with your dog. An unbeatable combination for a long lasting rewarding companionship.
Happy training, thanks for reading.

The Ideal Tricks To Coach The Dog
Teaching your dog tricks can be a great deal of fun. It can also help to make them smarter, and for you to have more control over your pets. There are some basic commands that should be taught in order to get your dog to do the things you need him to. Below are the best tricks to teach your dog.
Sit is probably the easiest trick to teach your dog. Most dogs who only know a handful of tricks know how to sit. If your dog understands this command, it shows that you are the dominant one between the two of you. Sitting can help you to introduce your dog to another person or animal without your pet getting too excited and unruly.
Down is another popular trick that many dogs learn. This is the word used to get your dog to lie down. Perhaps your dog is tired but is too busy running around to realize it. Having this command allows you to be in control and gets your pet to rest.
Stay is a beneficial trick for all pets to know. It is effective in the event that you need to step away from your dog for a moment. Getting something done without your dog at your heels helps you to complete the task and resume playing with your dog. This command tends to follow the sit trick, so that you can have your dog remain in that position until you say otherwise.
Heel is a trick that may take some time to teach dogs. It is very beneficial once your pet knows what the word means. Heel refers to your dog walking right beside you, and not pulling on the leash in order to get ahead. This is effective for walking your dog in the park or down the street. . This command tends to follow the sit trick, so that you can have your dog remain in that position until you say otherwise.
Fetch is a fun trick for your dog to learn, for both you and your pet. Tossing an item for the dog to retrieve allows the two of you to bond. It will also provide exercise for the dog. This can be used as more than a game if you can teach your pooch to fetch the newspaper or your slippers.
Shake is a social trick that makes others feel welcome in the presence of the dog. Many people shake hands upon seeing each other. Having your dog shake a friend’s hand is a gentlemanly gesture. It is also a fun trick to watch.
Play dead is one of the oldest tricks to teach a dog. It can be a difficult one though. Patience is needed to teach this command. It generally follows sit and stay, which is probably one reason it is so difficult. It requires attention and knowledge from the dog in order to follow all three commands.
As you can see, there are quite a few tricks that you can teach your dog. The best ones have been mentioned here. They are also the basic commands that almost any dog can learn relatively easy. The more tricks that your pet acquires, the smarter he will appear to those that watch the tricks being performed.
